” Eat me cuz you can neva beat me “
If sugary treats could talk , this is what they’d say to us .
Here’s the ugly truth, most of us indulge in them way too much to the point that we lose control over what we are stuffing in our mouth !
So what is it about these treats that gets us all crazy and drooly over them ?
The answer would be Brainwashing . The way these treats look and smell makes our brains capture this picture-perfect image of them through our eyes , then stimulates our apetite center which makes us crave for them ! What happens next ? We pounce on them like a viscous tiger .
I came to a conclusion that this pretty much explains why sugary treats are our runaway place when feeling down or emotional , simply because we want to feel as good as they look besides them being a sweet savory .
These sugar-coated monsters trick you into eating them to the point that you’re too guilty to carry on, yet too satisfied to stop !
” So what now ? Do I just give up eating these yummy treats ? ”
Well thats not the case . The key here is to :
1 . Try as much as you can to gradually lower your intake of sugar on a daily basis .
Today 2 teaspoons of sugar, tomorrow 1 and a half . Today 1 whole cookie , tomorrow half a cookie and so on .
Doing it gradually will train your brain making it eventually more satisfied when eating less sugar . This actually works to the point that you’d want to gag if you come across something too sugary that used to satisfy you in the past !
According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the maximum amount of added sugars you should eat in a day are :
Men: 150 calories per day (37.5 grams or 9 teaspoons).
Women: 100 calories per day (25 grams or 6 teaspoons).
( If you are diabetic , your physician will put guidelines that will be tailored to your condition )
2 . In that split second you crave a sweet delight , just switch off your brain and think of all the harm it can cause you & your body ( a major turnoff ) and quickly satisfy your crave with a fruity , very low-sugar dessert that will leave you & your body happy and healthy .
Medically speaking , Sugar should be considered a white poison , here’s why :
Weight gain especially in the abdominal area
Liver overload & damage
Tooth decay and gum problems
Insulin resistance which can progress to type 2 Diabetes
Alot of studies came to a conclusion that too much sugar increases the risk of getting cancer
It has the ability to raise cholesterol , triglycerides , LDL and oxidized LDL in your blood in a very short time which is a scary risk factor for heart diseases
Can increase your uric acid
And the list doesnt stop there , it just affects everything in your body in a very bad way !
So battle away your sugar crave &
Make lowering your sugar intake a CHOICE before it becomes an OBLIGATION !
